As part of your contract you will get allowances for Cabinets, Flooring and Lights. These allowances will be based on what type of finishes you think you'll be getting at the beginning of the process. We will put you in contact with our preferred suppliers who will help you make selections within your budget. If you need find you need to increase your allownaces this can be done and the purchase price will increase accordingly. Also, if you don't use all of the supplied allowances you will be credited the remaining amount at closing.
Can I make changes to your plans?
Yes. We will work with you to customize our plans to best suit your needs.
Can I bring my own plans?
Yes. We will gladly work with your plans. We can also customize them to better suit your needs.
Is there a size restriction with R2000?
Not at all! There is a common misconception that it’s not possible
to build a large home to be R2000. This is simply not the
case. We have built many large homes to be R2000 certified
by following the high standards put in place.
Do we choose our own finishes?
Yes! We will walk you through the process of putting together
the finishes of your choice. You will get to select flooring,
paint, doors, cabinets, siding, even the color of your shingles!
Will the price change once construction begins?
No. The only reason the price would change would be if you
were to make changes once construction had begun.
How much of a deposit is needed?
A minimum deposit for a turnkey new home is usually 5%. It could
possibly be higher depending on the extent of how
customized the home is.
Where do you build?
We build new homes in all areas of HRM as well as in
the East Hants area.
Do we have home plans to choose from?
We do have plans available and there are also endless possibilities.....
Usually our clients will start with an idea of what they want and
we will custom design a plan from there.
How long does it take to build a new home?
While it depends on the house, generally the time to build a new
house ranges from 4-6 months.
How much does it cost to build a new home?
We are often asked about our "cost per square foot" price. We do not
price our home by the square foot as no two homes are the same.
The pricing process at Stonewater is much more detail orientated than
simply multiplying the square footage of the home by a
pre-determined average cost. We have developed a process for pricing
homes that ensures our obtain an accurate price for the home and
specifications they select.
